This event is an opportunity to celebrate the season, to network with fellow AIABaltimore members and Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) supporters, and learn about 2016 accomplishments and how you can become more involved in the Baltimore chapter and BAF programs. Meet AIABaltimore President-Elect Sharon Day, AIA, and members of AIABaltimore and BAF board of directors and committees, and staff.
The historic Baltimore War Memorial was designed by Laurence Hall Fowler and constructed in 1925. The War Memorial was originally dedicated as a memorial to soldiers who fought in World War I. It was rededicated in 1977 by Mayor William Donald Schaefer to include all American wars in the 20th century.
The Annual Meeting and Holiday Party will be held in the lower level Assembly Hall, which also houses displays and historic memorabilia. The War Memorial upper hall will be available for viewing and tours during the event, but please note that food and drink are not permitted there.
A reception and presentation/tours about the design, historic architecture and history of the War Memorial will follow the Annual Meeting.
Free to attend for AIABaltimore members and 2016 BAF contributors.
AIABaltimore non-members and those who have not made a 2016 contribution to BAF may select a ‘donation ticket’ which covers registration for one person. When registering, you will be given the option to allocate your donation to support the Baltimore Architecture Foundation and/or the Maryland Architects PAC.
AIABaltimore embers who would like to make a donation to BAF or the PAC should select a ‘donation ticket’ as their admission ticket. (Please note: if you select a free ticket and a ‘donation ticket’ we’ll assume you are bringing a guest.)
Please consider making a donation to the Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) and/or the Maryland Architects PAC!
Your contribution to the BAF will support public outreach, education, research, publications, and scholarship programs to promote awareness of Baltimore’s architecture and built environment, and is tax-deductible (as allowed by law).
Founded in 1995, the Maryland Architects PAC works hand-in-hand with AIA Maryland to achieve its legislative goals. The PAC enables member architects to more fully participate in electing and re-electing legislators who understand and support our profession, our livelihood and our issues. We offer heartfelt thanks to the individuals and organizations that provide direct financial support to the PAC. Their dollars give “voice” in promoting the interests of all Maryland architects thereby improving the practice of architecture within the State of Maryland. Without this support, the PAC’s successful activities would not have been possible.
