Giving Tuesday is on December 3. Donate to the BAF to support our programs and initiatives that open doors and open minds.
Here are just a few initiatives that you support by donating to the Baltimore Architecture Foundation. Thanks to your support, we continue to grow and deliver exciting programs that align with our mission to celebrate design and the built environment.
Center for Architecture and Design
This is a very exciting time for us as we get ready to move and open the Center for Architecture and Design at One Charles Center early next year. The Center will be the new headquarters for the BAF and AIA Baltimore, and a plethora of allied organizations. Our vision is to serve as a high profile and visible space to showcase the important role of architects and design. We want the Center to be at the forefront of design thinking and be a model for sustainable design best practices. That also means a better and more inviting space for programs and gallery exhibits.
Your support will help us create a dynamic hub to engage professionals, students, and the public.
Doors Open Baltimore
Doors Open Baltimore 2019 was the biggest Doors Open yet with over 10,000 visits throughout the weekend to 56 sites across the city and 17 special tours. The event continues to make an impact in Baltimore. Our survey of visitors showed how Doors Open Baltimore makes an impact:
88% Learned something new about Baltimore architecture
52% Changed their opinion of Baltimore for the better because of Doors Open
49% Visited a neighborhood they were previously unfamiliar with
73% Are likely or very likely to return to a site they visited during Doors Open
We can’t wait to see everyone again for Doors Open Baltimore 2020 on October 3 & 4.
Your support helps us keep Doors Open Baltimore growing and free to the public.
Future Architects Resources/Kids in Design
Fostering the next generation of architects and encouraging design education are important to the BAF’s mission. Our Future Architects Resources/Kids in Design program partners architecture firms with local schools through the Adopt-A-School Program, partners with local museums, and develops a plethora of design activities for K-12 students. We also partner with local architecture schools to offer scholarships for architecture students, including the Fellows Leadership Award and the FAR Scholarship Awards.
Your support fosters the next generation of architects.
