#GivingTuesday is on November 28. Much of what the Baltimore Architecture Foundation does depends on contributions from individual donors. How can your donation make a difference?
DONATE NOWBy promoting the value of architecture to the public. Doors Open Baltimore expanded to two days this year, drawing thousands of people to explore architecture across the city and to meet the people who design and preserve it. Our attendee survey showed that 87% of people learned something new about Baltimore Architecture and 53% responded that their opinion of Baltimore changed for the better as a result of Doors Open Baltimore.
Your contribution helps the us expand upon the success of Doors Open Baltimore year to year.
By supporting the next generation of architects. Our Future Architects Resources (FAR)/Kids in Design programs engage K-12 students with the profession through school visits and career fairs. Adopt-A-School is building relationships between architecture firms and schools, bringing design curriculum to Baltimore students.
BAF also supports the next generation of architects by providing scholarships such as the FAR Scholarship Awards and the Fellows Leadership award.
Your contribution grows our scholarships and our ability to engage students about the importance of design and careers in architecture.
By telling the story of Maryland’s architectural history. The BAF’s Dead Architects Society and its publications reveal the works and lives of the region’s great architects, from George Frederick to Poldi Hirsch.
This year at the Doors Open Baltimore Kick-Off Lecture, the BAF invited Professor Dale Glenwood Green to speak about his research into early African American Architects of Maryland, revealing for the first time sixty architects practicing throughout the 20th century. We plan to continue to work with Professor Green to share these important findings.
Your contribution helps us share and present the diverse stories of Maryland’s architectural legacy.
By giving back to the community through design. This year, the BAF and AIABaltimore hosted CANstruction—the national event that gathers teams of designers to build structures made entirely from canned food—at the BWI Airport. Along with the spectacular designs, we were able to donate over 6,300 cans of food to the Maryland Food Bank.
Your contribution provides the resources for organizing programs that impact our communities.
Consider giving this year to the Baltimore Architecture Foundation. The BAF is a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Your support helps us to continue these wonderful programs and continue in our mission to promote the value of architecture.
