Join the Baltimore Architecture Foundation (BAF) and Baltimore Heritage for a tour of a historic 1856 Victorian home in Mount Washington designed by architect Thomas Dixon, founding member of the American Institute of Architects, Baltimore Chapter. It is one of three or four surviving homes from the original planned community.

After meticulous research, the home was carefully restored by its current owner. The original Georgia Pine floors have been restored, along with the floor-to-ceiling windows, cedar shakes, and woodburning fireplaces. The restoration received awards from the Maryland Historic Trust, the Mount Washington Improvement Association, and Baltimore Heritage.

The house is currently for sale.

Thomas Dixon completed a wide range of works in the Baltimore area including public buildings, churches, and residential homes. Dixon’s best known work is the gothic style Mount Vernon Methodist Church in Mount Vernon Place.
