On Monday evening, Morgan State University will be hosting a lecture by the renowned Vancouver architect Bing Thom.  Mr. Thom has recently completed the addition to the Arena Stage in southwest Washington, D.C.  Recently, 2009 BAF Lewis Lecturer, Witold Rybczynski wrote of the project for Slate calling it “…an audacious building that breathes fresh air into the nation’s capital.”  Don’t miss this chance to hear about the work of a terrific architect.

Bing Thom (CM, MArch, MAIBC, FRAIC, AIA) is the Founding Principal of Bing Thom Architects (BTA) . His distinguished career has been recognized with Canada’s highest honor, the Order of Canada, for his contribution to architecture. He has also been awarded the Golden Jubilee Medal for services to his country, and most recently, was privileged to be the recipient of an Honorary Degree of Laws bestowed from Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia, for major commitment to architecture and community.

Since 1980, Bing Thom Architects (BTA) has been collaborating with and advising cultural institutions, corporations, universities, governments, developers and communities around the world to help them successfully achieve their building aspirations. (source:
