Housed at Cornell University since 1968, the Roland Park Company Papers have returned to Maryland and we are invited to an exclusive first look with JHU Special Collections Librarian Cynthia Requardt.
A treasure trove of information on the Roland Park Company, developers of Roland Park, Guilford, Homeland, and Northwood await our viewing. Every aspect of neighborhood development has been documented and saved within this collection – letters, plans, drawings (more than 2,000!), four volumes of photographs, marketing materials, plat and plot maps, and ledgers. So much information is included that it will take several semesters before the entire collection is even cataloged. Currently, it is being accessioned and housed at the Libraries Service Center on the JHU Applied Physics Lab campus in Laurel.
This is a unique opportunity to see an important piece of Baltimore history before it is fully available for researchers. Spaces are limited.
Online Registration is now closed. Please email baf@baltimorearchitecture.org if you are interested – we might be able to fit one more!
